Clinical Trials During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The Hellenic National Bioethics Commission issued a Recommendation on "Clinical Trials During the COVID-19 Pandemic" based on the contribution of the Group of Experts on the pandemic of corona virus (COVID-19)

The following specific issues were examined in relation to COVID-19 clinical trials:

- review of protocols,
- selection of patients or participants in general,
- issues of informed consent,
- use of placebo,
- challenge studies,
- data sharing,
- priorities during protocol design, and 
- scarcity of resources and the consequences of the pandemic on non-COVID-19 clinical trials.
